In Thorndike, we take an exposed-filament bulb, suspended in a handsomely detailed candlecup and, using four simple metal holders, diffuse the light through a square piece of safety glass. Smooth on one side and stippled on the other, this glass is enmeshed with hammered wire and held in a Spartan brass frame.
